At Moving Forward Consulting and Wellness Services we teach skillfully designed private and group Yoga and/or Meditation classes in a safe and supportive environment throughout the Simcoe County area
~ Orillia, Barrie, Midland, Coldwater, Oro Medonte, Simcoe County.


Our Yoga practice invites us to slowly release tension and drop fully into the body ~ being present with the body moment to moment.

Private Yoga Classes

A private one on one Yoga class is tailored to meet your individual needs and goals. The class is scheduled so you can practice at a time that best suits you. We can come to you, allowing you the opportunity to practice in the comfort of your own home, or an alternate location can be arranged. A private class also includes an optional personalized "take home" lesson designed with you in mind, taking into consideration your personal health, time constraints and goals. This combination of private one on one class and "take home" lesson allows you to deepen your yoga practice at your own pace.

Group Yoga Classes

All classes, whether for beginners or experienced students, are created with an easeful, gentle, mindful approach to Yoga; inviting students to tune into their bodies, listening to their inner wisdom as they use their breath to guide them from one posture to the next.

We provide the Yoga mats and any other necessary equipment ~ you wear loose comfortable clothes, bring water to replenish the body and enjoy the class.


Vipassana Insight Meditation is the practice of moment to moment awareness ~ being awake to the present moment just as it is.

Private Meditation Classes

Discover the teachings surrounding meditation in a session planned just for you; choosing a time, location and date that fit your schedule. With the exclusive attention of the teacher you are able to open to meditation at a pace the feels right for you, exploring each topic and then taking time to see how the information applies in your daily life.

Group Meditation Classes

Joining together in Sangha, a group of like minded people travelling on the path of meditation, you feel the support and comfort of practicing with others. Created with the intention of being appropriate for those new to meditation as well as those with more experience, each class utilizes an open and relaxed atmosphere for exploring meditation.

Class Description - Gentle Yoga: This 90 minute class incorporates an easeful approach to the practice of Yoga that invites grounding and releasing of the body. The class will include warm up postures, breathing exercises, yoga postures at varying level of difficulty and end with relaxation. Suitable for all familiar with Yoga.

Class Description - Yoga with a Chair: In this 90 minute class we will learn stretching, deep breathing, and relaxation techniques that are particularly well suited to older adults, seniors and individuals with physical challenges and limitations. Deep breathing relieves tension and provides energy to the entire body; stretching exercises improve balance and coordination. In this Yoga session, postures are modified according to the flexibility and strength needs of the students; chairs and other props will be introduced accordingly.

Day Long Workshops and Weekend Retreats
During the year Cheryl runs Days of Mindfulness and Wellness Weekends ~ an opportunity for participants to slow down and take time to nourish and replenish themselves. Please call or email Cheryl directly to get more information about specific dates and to reserve your spot.

Cheryl Meditating - In deep Meditation during one of her ClassesCheryl has practiced Yoga for over 15 years. In 2005, she became a certified Yoga teacher after completing a 500 hour training program, studying with Irene and Dr. Bill Beer of Namaste International in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli, focusing on a form of Yoga that works with the body to restore health, vitality and energy while moving through Yoga practice without strain or effort. Cheryl attends workshops and conferences to continually develop and build on her Yoga teaching skills and knowledge.

Cheryl’s journey with meditation began in 1999 when she participated in Jon Kabat-Zinn's "Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction" 8 week course. Since then she has had a daily meditation practice and has participated in meditation retreats, varying in length from 3 to 9 days. In November 2009, Cheryl spent a month in India on a Buddhist Pilgrimage, visiting important historical sites of the Buddha and deepening her understanding of the Dharma. In 2011 Cheryl completed a 2 year Meditation Mentorship Programme with Norman Feldman, Molly Swan and Michael Stone.

Most recently Cheryl has completed the Mindfulness Yoga Teacher Training with Frank Jude Boccio ~ over 250 hours of extensive study of the interplay of Mindfulness and Yoga.

Cheryl is a 500 Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance.

Cheryl approaches her sharing of Meditation and Yoga with a kind and open heart ~ she does not simply teach but lives a life based on the wisdom of these wellness practices.
